HUAYNA POTOSI (6.080 m), is located 25 km from the city of La Paz. The mountain is crowded. Its normal route easily accessible by road La Paz - Zongo.

The mountain of Huayna Potosi joins the line of the Cordillera Real peaks by a string of minor but abrupt. Huayna Potosi has a special attraction, an aesthetic appeal for the mountaineer. In recent years, the normal route has been climbing hundreds of times per season, which is comparable to Huascaran in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru.
The best time for climbing in the Cordillera Real is between the months of May and October, when rainfall is minimal and the skies are fairly clear.

CIRCUIT - KHOTIA – PICO AUSTRIA – HUAYNA POTOSI

 
     
     
 
Day  01 : Arriving La Paz Airport – Transfer Hotel

The airport is located in the city of “El Alto” the highest international airport in the world from here you will be transferred to your hotel descending approximately 30 Min. into La Paz. Do not stress much about the altitude, our program has been designed to get you gradually acclimatized. At the beginning we strongly suggest you to take it very easy, drink plenty of water and eat lightly

You will have the rest of the day free. At early evening we will have a briefing meeting and a welcome dinner

 
     
 
Day 02: La Paz – Khotia –  Ajuani Lake

We left the city of La Paz (08:00 am) private transport towards Lake Titicaca, the Cordillera Real detour to the valley of JichuKhota

After some preparation we begin our journey heading towards our first step, which descending to the valley of the mine Palco, cross the river and continue on the next hill to get to Laguna Ajuani we establish our first camp.

 
     
 
Day 03: Ajuani Lake – Juri Khotia

After our breakfast 9:00 a.m. start our journey heading for the passage of Ajuani (4,800 m.), to reach the same distance we can distinguish the West Face of Huayna Potosi. Then descend to Laguna Janchallani to again re-ascend to the next step (Janchallani 4860 m.), at the bottom of this valley we can see the lake on whose banks Khota Juki set up our second camp.

 
     
 
Day 04: Juri Khotia – Austria Peak – Chiar Khota

After the  breakfast, we left the camp along Laguna Juri Khota way up to Laguna Glacial, over which we passed a rock step in a difficulty , continuing the path that we come to step Austria is at 5150 m. high, after a short break we started the ascent of Peak 5280 m. Austria Whose summit is an excellent Mirador, where you can enjoy a full panoramic view of the Andes, Lake Titicaca, and so on. Finally we descend to Laguna Chiar Khota where we set our Third Camp.

 
     
 

Day 05: Chiar Khota – Maria Lloco Camp

After the breakfas we hike up to Condoriri pass at  (4,900 m.) we descend the hill and continue down to the camp.

 In the afternoon we reached the place where we set up our campsite (4,700 m.), from which we can distinguish Lloco Mary Mountain and the Great Wall of the West Face of Huayna Potosi

 
     
  Day 06. MariaLloco Camp – HuaynaPotosi Base Camp – La Paz – Hotel  
 

Climb up to  KellhuaniMilluni (4830 m.) and then begin a gradual decline on the lakes until Khota and KhotaJanckePata, and finally reach of Huayna Potosi Base Camp (4,750 m.) where we expect the vehicle to us bring back to the city of La Paz.
