It is located in the Cordillera Blanca Llaca valley it is visible from the center of Huaraz,and because of its proximity to Huaraz and relatively lower altitude, it is often used to acclimatize for a challenging climbing experience, it can be climbed in two days. Vallunaraju has two defined summits (the north one being slightly higher), from where one can enjoy views of all of Huaraz and part of the Huaylas Valley.

A great peak to include at the end of your trek or as an acclimation mountain prior to attempting a larger nearby challenge.
