Cordillera Huayhuash Entrance Fees – 2026 / 2027 Season

The Cordillera Huayhuash spans 30 km in the central Andes of Peru, just south of the Cordillera Blanca. The Cordillera Huayhuash Reserved Zone was established on December 20, 2002 (Ministerial Resolution Nº 1173-2002-AG) to protect its high-mountain ecosystems, pristine glaciers, biodiversity, and outstanding landscapes. It is important to note that the Reserved Zone is managed independently and is not part of the National Park.

The trekking circuit borders three departments (Ancash, Huánuco, and Lima) and encompasses eight distinct local farming communities (Comunidades Campesinas).

Each community independently maintains its territory, trail sections, and campsites, charging a localized entry fee. This income directly benefits the local families and funds infrastructure maintenance, such as campsite toilets and community improvements.

Payments must be made in cash directly at each community checkpoint. Credit cards and ATMs are not available in the mountains. All fees are in Peruvian Soles (S/.)

Note: Pack animals (donkeys and horses) are also subject to a minor grazing fee of S/. 3. All community entrance fees are subject to slight adjustments depending on local assembly decisions.
