Trekking Ishinca Valley - Refugio Don Bosco en Los Andes

Overview


Short trek to Tocllaraju base camp, experience the 360-degree views in the Ishinca base camp on our 3 day Ishinca Valley trek. Witness some of the most stunning peaks in the Andes upon arriving in the Ishinca Valley such as Urus 5490m. Tocllaraju 6030m. Palcaraju 6270m. upon arrival to high refuge Longoni to see Ishinca 5560m. Ranrapalca 6163m.

Challenging 3-day trip perfect as an acclimatization indicator for longer tours ( Huayhuash trek – Cordillera Blanca trek or climb) or summiting attempts nearby.

To spend the night there are two options, it can be in the tents or in Refugio Peru

Itinerary


Day 1: Huaraz – Cochapampa – Ishinca Base Camp
After the breakfast in Huaraz at 7:30 a.m. we will drive 1 hour to Pashpa (cochapampa) at 11,220’ here our donkey and donkey driver will be waiting for us, we will load our gear and trek 4-5 hours to Ishinca base camp in Huascaran National Park. We will then settle into campand. Ishinca base camp (14,190’).
Hiking time 4 – 5 Hours

Day 2: Base Camp – High Refuge – Base Camp
in the morning we will have a good delicious breakfast at around 8.00am then we will hike up for 3 hours to Longoni refugee located near the Ishinca glacier, there we an find amazing views of Ishinca peak 5560m. Ranrapalca 6150m. Then return to base camp Hiking 6 Hours

Day 3: Base Camp – Cochapampa – Huaraz
After breakfast and packing our gears we will start to descend to Cochapampa where our transport will be waiting for us to drive us back to Huaraz.
